Hrudka Appointed to Allard Chrysler Action Group Title
Named to "Patron" Position
December 09, 2009 - For Immediate Release

In a release to the European media earlier today, the Allard Chrysler Action Group (ACAG) which is restoring the Europeís first rail dragster, the iconic Allard Chrysler, for the Great Britainís National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, has named Traci Hrudka, Chairman of the Quarter Mile Entertainment Foundation (QMEF) to the title of Patron.

She joins Nick Mason, drummer for Pink Floyd and the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Motor Museum, as Patrons of the ACAG.

The Board of Directors of the Allard Chrysler Action Group felt that her enthusiastic efforts to help secure and build a period correct replacement engine for the car, plus leading the North American effort to organize a swap between the NHRA-Wally Parks Museum and the National Motor Museum/Beaulieu of the Mooneyes dragster, warranted the honor of placing her in the position of Patron, with Mason.

In announcing the appointment, ACAG spokesman Brian Taylor said, ìFor some time I have been conscious of the need to have a strong international element in this project. The USA is the home of drag racing and the involvement of American suppliers is vital for success. Since I first made contact with Traci via legendary track announcer Jon Lundberg, she has been an absolute dynamo of enthusiasm for what we are trying to achieve. American drag racing fans have taking ëAllyí to their hearts and much of that is down to Traci Hrudka and her co-directors. Nick and I are really pleased that she has accepted this more formal role that further cements our relationship with the American drag racing world.î

In accepting the invitation, Traci said, ìI would be deeply, deeply honored to wear that badge for the ACAG and ëAlly.í I adore this relationship we have already formed and I am very committed to seeing it through on this side of the pond. The Project 1320 directors thought it was absolutely terrific and were very excited for the distinguished honor to be bestowed upon me as well as the Project 1320 team.

ìI already feel very much a part of your family as we have been welcomed must generously, and to have that trust that the family is putting one of their children in our hands is most rewarding. Be very assured that ëAllyí and your organization will be handled with the utmost of care and be embraced as one of our own childrenî.

The title ìPatronî is a great honor in Great Britain and Europe. It is bestowed and accepted with seriousness, and a Patron generally is seen as an active and public figure in the cause. Nick Mason has proven, in his position as Patron to the ACAG, to be a highly visible and effective spokesperson for the restoration of the Allard Chrysler. He has a deep passion for motorsport and automotive history, serving as the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu; and a Trustee plus the President of the Guild of Motoring Writers.
