Project 1320 Website Fully Operational
April 28 , 2010 - For Immediate Release

Quarter Mile Foundationís official website, www.project1320.com has become a fully operating website. After several months of operating only as a "splash" site for memberships to the Friends of PROJECT 1320, the site now offers visitors a wide range of opportunity to understand the scope of PROJECT 1320 and what it means for the sport of drag racing and the automotive performance aftermarket.

"The goal of the Project 1320 website is to become the most comprehensive online resource for the history of Drag Racing," stated Stephen Krystek of Synthetic Human Pictures, the web designer and producer of PROJECT 1320. "The siteís texture of raw materials pays homage to the raw ingenuity of the pioneers in their efforts to create the tools necessary to win the race.

"The photo and video galleries contain an ever-growing number of windows to the past, preserving footage and photos that would have otherwise been lost to the world. As the site expands in the coming months, new sections will be added to include a Members-only sub-site and areas in the media where fans will be able to help the Quarter Mile Foundation accurately determine the people, dates, and locations of the video and photographs which have been donated."

"Since the beginning of the Foundationís internet presence, our 'splash' landing site, was only temporary," said Traci Hrudka, Chairman of the Quarter Mile Foundation. "We have relied heavily upon our social network site, project1320.ning.com, to tell our story. We have been very successful at the 'Ning' site, but it had limitations. Now, with the fully operational project1320.com site, we are able to far more fully tell our story about the aims of the Foundation, the need for the completion of the documentary, and to give greater access to our partners ‚ our sponsors and endorsers.

"Currently, the site addresses our goals and the direction we are taking to raise public awareness, particularly within the drag racing and automotive enthusiast communities, plus the aftermarket industry. As time progresses, we'll be expanding the site's interactive nature and that will begin with the site's Members-only sub-site area, where 'Friends of PROJECT 1320' members will be able to help identify locations, people and race cars to help catalog the archives for use in the documentaries. Over time, weíll be adding the behind the scenes footage of the interviews of the legends to the 'Friends' sub-site, and will be adding more photos and film footage from individuals who will share them with other fans."

The "Ning" site will continue to operate as an adjunct to the new project1320.com site, but will be playing a secondary role. The key is to steer Ning site visitors to the 'official' site, where the donated photos and film footage will be available. The project1320.com site and the project1320.ning.com will be linked together, allowing visitors to move seamlessly between the two websites.
